Seroquel XR is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant used to treat depression, in which case Seroquel XR is also sometimes prescribed. Seroquel is an atypical antidepressant and has not been studied in adults with a history of major depressive disorder (MDD) or an eating disorder (AD).
